All the news that's fit to print?...well, we'll see.
Anita had a lumpectomy and then, after they found
small traces at the edge of the lump, had another. Two anaesthetics and two
operations in one month left her shattered. Quite a bit of painful
discomfort from the removal of a lymph node underarm and then the radio
therapy. At first it seemed not too bad but then, as the treatment
progressed, signs of burning. The radio therapy is complete but it's going
to take quite some time to recover from the awful burns. Anita is being
amazingly brave and we are praying for a swift recovery and ease from the
pain.
The best medicine has certainly been Lalita and
Joel - when you're feeling at your very lowest they are guaranteed to cheer
you up. Both walking and now beginning to talk, they provide endless
entertainment and joy.
Mutsi celebrated her 90th birthday on Sunday 9th
May and we all went to Namaste, an Indian restaurant in Gloucester. Had a
lovely day. See some photos in the Current Photo Gallery... Then on Tuesday
Mutsi had a little stroke and went to hospital. Irregular heartbeat leading
to blood clots had sent one of the clots to cause the stroke. By Friday
afternoon she was back home with new drugs prescribed including Warfarin.
Lots of blood tests til the Warfarin dosage was balanced. She's still quite
tired but making a good recovery - hope we can all be a sharp as she is when
we get to 90!!
No need for any operation for Chas who seems to
have his heartbeat back to good regularity. Had a little monitor stuck to a
shaven chest for a week and hoping the result will confirm the fix.
The new taxi arrived last October and is superb - a
Skoda Superb - and much admired by the taxi trade in Gloucester and
certainly appreciated by the customers. Will be doing my first wedding in it
this Saturday.
